Joyful Adulting at Mica Mountain High School

Krista Gypton at Mica Mountain High School wanted to expose the Senior Class to a variety of creative hobbies because there is a lot of research about how creative hobbies into adulthood contribute to better mental health and overall joy and life satisfaction. She teaches units on becoming a healthy, well-rounded adult, including reading books in literature cirlces about money management, leadership, conflict resolution, healthy relationships, and habit building. She asked for help with here program and the Rincon Rotary, ourselves joyful adults, were happy to help.

The Rincon Rotary's support is part of its Rotary LOCAL program, whose mission is to help improve the local community through educational outreach. Rotary LOCAL can provide manpower, resources from local business partners, or in some cases, direct financial support to teachers who apply for assistance. Rotary LOCAL is funded in part by our annual Taste of Chocolate event, a great way to sample local sweets and help teachers at the same time.
