Rincon Rotary starts book collections for new teachers at Craycroft Elementary.

Jade Rodriguez at Craycroft Elementary requested books for some new teachers who had just relocated to Tucson as part of a teaching program. Ms Rodriguez said these books will "relieve some of the financial responsibility for our teachers and allow them to provide the students with engaging books to promote literacy." The Rincon Rotary takes every opportunity it can to alleviate the burden on teachers and promote literacy. We partnered with independent Tucson bookstore Mostly Books to procure the wish lists for these educators.

Rincon Rotary's support is part of its Rotary LOCAL program, whose mission is to help improve the local community through educational outreach. Rotary LOCAL can provide manpower, resources from local business partners, or in some cases, direct financial support to teachers who apply for assistance. Rotary LOCAL is funded in part by our annual Taste of Chocolate event, a great way to sample local sweets and help teachers at the same time.
